Good Fences #29

Hubby and I went into Melbourne last week, had a walk around, we've not been into the city all year. We crossed the Yarra River and there were all these padlocks on the railing fence. They were from all over the world. Must find out what it signifies.

I like those fences with locks on them, but mostly they can't hold the weight and crash. Couples put them on there and then throw the key into the river. They think their love lasts forever then :D

Interesting photos and I've heard of these love locks in other cities too. Have a great day!

The locks are supposed to be good luck for each couple that places one on a bridge.

I remember seeing something about this but have forgotten what it was. Now I have to do some research. Interesting.

Certainly a fascinating tradition but I've heard it can be dangerous too when the weight becomes to heavy for the structure.

What a neat idea. Hopefully this fence will be able to take the weight.

Lovely how the locks add so much colour to the scene.
