Good Fences #2

This wall/fence sits at the along top of this amazing place, Wave Rock, in Hyden Western Australia, about 310kms (200miles) east of Perth. This wall/fence has 2 purposes, 1. it acts like a funnel to flow the rain water into the dam that services the town of Hyden,  2. stops people falling 15m(50ft) to the base.
In the distance is the Salt Lake (next week)

Walking along the base of Wave Rock. The colours are spectacular, would have loved to have seen it in the rain too!!
It's an amazing place, we spent ages  wandering around there.

Fences

Fences are back, they are now known as "GOOD FENCES", and we now have a new hostess too, Thanks Theresa aka TexWiseGirl over at The Run*A*Round Ranch, its a meme I just love and have really missed, so I'm really pleased that it continues.
I have to say a BIG Thank you to Jan who used to be our wonderful hostess, she has a few life things to deal with, but will still be a bloggin'.

He's my Good Fence to start off the new round.
This is Canal Rocks, in Western Australia, we were there last November. Rugged, but very very beautiful. (I still have to do a post about that trip!!)

(Have a wander over there to see some other amazing fences and/or gates)

The smoke is still hanging around after the bushfires (not local) on the weekend, making the sunrises beautiful.

Friday Fences

Our favorite spot Inverloch, this morning, like the whole week, I have been walking into to town with hubby, early, to beat the heat (we've had temperatures over 40'c/105'F for the last 4 days), past the jetty and.................

past these blokes, who greet us each early morning. Sometimes there are 2, sometimes 5 like today, one of them brings a 'cuppa' and there they chat, about what?? I don't know, but it made me realise that each day they are there, enjoying the "the simple thing". So this morning I asked them if I could take their photo, I explained why, they were more than happy to oblige :-)
And keeping in Fences there is one there too

Friday's Fences

This fellow( Sulphur Crested Cockatoo) frightened the daylights out of me earlier in the week, when he let out a squawk just as I was walking past.

I went to Philip Island for a stitching weekend a couple of weeks ago (been doing a lot of that lately!! :-) What fun. We went for a gorgeous evening walk along the beach, to walk off dinner, this fantastic ramp was built with donations from many clubs, businesses and families, so that there is easy beach access for everyone.

Found this interesting fence and house on the walk too

Happenings and a giveaway

Goodness me its been a very, VERY long time since I posted something other than a fence. Mind you, I do have a lot of fun looking out for them. I'll try not to bore you with too much.

In May we added 2 new members to our family.......Kitty cats, Introducing Flint (tabby) and Luna (tortoise shell) Flint is a month older. Very social and they love mischief, especially Flint.

Flint loves balls made from aluminium foil, as soon as he hears me in the kitchen with it, he's at my feet waiting for a little bit to turn into a ball. He steals my thread and pulls the pins out from my pincushion!! Apparently he's helping....

Here we all are looking for things they've lost under the couch.......

quite a treasure stash our kitty cats have!!

One of my sewing groups had a quilt show a few months back, it was a huge success. Lots of organising and things to finish,
but we raised lots of  $$ for our local fire brigade which was fantastic.

This last weekend we had our second Stitched in Time day. Its a day where I team up with my friend Gail, from Gail Pan Designs, we host a day with morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and have a wonderful day sewing.
We had about 55 ladies and I think everyone had a ball. There are a few photos here. (I forgot to take photos, sorry!!) If you are interested in joining us next year, here are more details.
I designed a couple of patterns for the day, which I am very pleased with, a Journal cover and a Christmas wall hanging

To celebrate my new patterns, I'd like to have my first ever giveaway. I have 3 copies of each. Simply leave a comment and next week I'll announce the 3 winners.

Enough from me for now.

Till next time
