Magoo and Cake

Earlier this year we went up to Queensland to visit family, I made this softie Magoo for our great nephew Dante.
Well this little fellow turned 1 last weekend and his mum and dad made this version of Magoo for his Birthday...........

Isn't it fabulous!! An edible Magoo YUM.
I'm so chuffed that Jenny and Terry made this, maybe they should start a cake creating business!!!
 It's just sooooo cool.

Friday's Fences

Its a wonderful thing this walking thing, though I don't 'love' it, I do love what I see. Walking around the hills where I have lived all my life,  I am seeing things in a whole different way. I actually "see" them.
I've walked past this tree a few times, but there is also the fence....

Friday Fences

This fence is nothing special, BUT the view is amazing. I took these photos a few years ago when went on a family holiday along the Victorian West Coast. We saw brochures for this place and decided to go and explore. Its a tree top walk, about 30 meters(100ft) up from the forest floor in the Otway Ranges called the Otway Fly.  (thanks Faye (fromFaye @ Summit Musings)for the idea, I had to go looking for these photos)

New Companion

Its been a while since I've done a bits and pieces post, hope I don't bore you.
First things first, I'd like to introduce you to my new companion.......
My other friend somehow got lost. We went to Bendigo a few weeks ago to visit, I had taken heaps of photos of  family, fences and things, but sadly my other Lumix never came back home with us. We looked for it, but......poof!! it vanished!!! DH thought he had put it in the car, I thought it was in my SIL's kitchen. Nothing, nowhere. I couldn't be without a camera for too long, so here we are, another Lumix, it has a few different features, but I think we're going to get along just fine.

On Sunday I took myself for a walk, I've been a little more adventurous lately, tackling hills I never EVER would have thought of doing, or thought I could do. This road is just down from my house, its actually a fire access track, it's soooo steep. It leads down to the little lake where we walk most mornings, (we drive in from the other direction) anyway, on the way back I passed this fellow, that's how slow I was going,

I was really pleased I beat him to the top!!!! ;-D

Here's the view from about halfway down to the lake

I spied these two Galah's sitting in the power cables, the zoom on the camera works well!!!
I have managed a little sewing too, another 1600 or Jelly roll quilt. This time I used what was in my stash, ALL my Butterfly fabric, I cut 3inch strips and joined fat 1/4's to get the width, and I had to go to about 1750 to get some extra length. I was really pleased with the result

I'll try and get out in the garden and take some shots of what's flowering in the next couple of days.

Friday Fences

I took this photo when were in Queensland earlier this year. Though we were only there for a couple of days we managed to find some really pretty places to walk. This boardwalk in Thornlands was one of them.

Friday's Fences

This walking around the local area streets is wonderful, all the photos I get of things with fences, or fences with things. I would so love some chooks, but our block isn't really chook friendly. I'll just wait for my walking friend to get hers.

I just love this fence, I walk past it sometimes on my walks. And now that the Happy Wanderer is out, it looks even better. Spring is definitely around the corner.

Friday Fences and a Happy Win

My weekend away took me up into the mountains again, Rawson, where I attend a yearly retreat. It's such a fun relaxing time. We went up to the Thompsom Dam again, I noticed the fence this year!!!, it's nothing special but the scenery is just beautiful. We were the only ones there.
The photo below is the photo I took last year, have we had some rain this year!!!

And I just have to add this.
I am still doing a happy dance!!!
I won this quilt in the raffle!!!
It's huge, bigger than queen size and so bright and cheery

Have a beautiful weekend,

Friday Emu Fence's

We went 'up the bush' on the weekend to visit family, I always love going up there, the company, the scenery, it just makes me take a step back and appreciate what there is in life, not just what is always around me.
On my walk I went around the country roads and I came across this fellow. Now Emu's are not something I would normally stumble across. So I was excited and he was next to a fence.

Friday's Fences

First of all, Please , Please  excuse the quality of these photos(taken with my phone), but I was so happy with the shots that I had to blog them. They were taken on Tuesday morning, 7am, just down the road during my walk. That my friends is the moon setting and not the sun rising. The shot is taken from around the same place as last weeks photo.
The moon was amazing, it was the most beautiful thing I'd seem in ages. I got hit by a few branches cos I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking, but it was so worth it!!(Excuse me for waffling!! )
