Travelling.... part 2 (lots of pics......)

I was going to this Lancaster County part in 2 parts, but decided I would give it to you  all at once. There was so much to see in 2 days, it just was not long enough. So with the little bit we saw (the tons of photos I took) and fell in love with this area, I have decided that I have to put it onto the itinerary for next time (yes there IS a next time)
The Pennsylvania Welcome Centre
The Welcome Centre overlooks the Tioga Reservoir and township
I continued doing my daily morning walk (if you are on facebook you will know I'm on a mission now, for those of you who don't know, I have been walking everyday for the past 2 and half years.........mandatory health thing has turned into a bit of an obssession, I not missed a day, so I was determined to not miss a day while in the USA either!! Too close to 1000 straight to miss one !!)

Walking around the back of Ronks in the morning was bliss. Saw a lot of the Amish doing their daily chores, the children running to school, that was so special see :-D (sorry no photos of that), it was just a wonderful experience.

 A farm

A moveable chicken coop

Shopping at this place was just......ummmmm yep!! Could have spent all my pennies there!!

Love this

Homes around

The Mill and Herr's Mill Bridge below
Could never get enough of this view!!

....or this

....or this

Perfect end to 2 wonderful days

?? a red breasted robin, saw lots of these

and this not so great photo is the only half decent pic I managed to take of a Cardinal......... which is now officially my 'favourite' bird!!! They are sooooo cute!!!
I must find a table-runner/quilt/stitchery pattern or something with them on. I looked but didn't find anything. I'm sure I will, just need to keep my eyes open.

Next stop Lynchburg VA and Bedford PA

Travelling....part 1

Where do I begin??? Oh the excitement, the fun, the places I went..........and I only did 3 weeks!!!
I returned home last week from my first overseas trip in 25 years (the hard part was leaving hubby at home, next time we'll do it together)!! But I still had the most amazing time, met the most wonderful people and saw spectacular things.
Sunset, up in the sky style
We left on the 2nd May and arrived in Pittsburgh the same day :-) International date line is good for something!! We had ourselves a good nights sleep and picked up our car the next morning for my first drive in the USA ( I volunteered to be driver). Now that was a very interesting experience, driving on the other side of the road, in the OTHER seat!!! But I got the hang of it after a few days. The first stop was in Lockport,

not far from Niagara Falls, where we met a new friend Lynn, Gail met on Lynn on facebook (the patchwork and quilling world is wonderful for things like that) we got to know Lynn a little via Facebook  before we actually met face to face!! What a wonderful lady, it was a real pleasure to have spent time with her :-)
Lynn took us to Niagara Falls, both sides, I had a day free of driving, but I learnt new (to me) road rules.
Niagara Falls, what can I say, it's...........breath taking, beautiful, huge, amazing, spectacular etc etc.

Found this gorgeous little sculpture while out on a morning walk in Lockport

Next stop was Lancaster County, photos on that next week.

The hall comes up a treat when it's all dressed up......

Fabulous help in the kitchen, Thanks Hermi......

Gorgeous projects.......

It was a wonderful weekend, I met lots of new ladies and was reacquainted with some new friends.
Thanks to everyone who attended I hope you had a great day.
Stay tuned, as we are doing all again in October.

In the meantime, I am getting oh so so SO excited, my trip to the US with Gail and Sandra is fast approaching. We leave in 3 weeks, yes, THREE weeks, for a trip to Pennsylvania.

Good Fences #2

This wall/fence sits at the along top of this amazing place, Wave Rock, in Hyden Western Australia, about 310kms (200miles) east of Perth. This wall/fence has 2 purposes, 1. it acts like a funnel to flow the rain water into the dam that services the town of Hyden,  2. stops people falling 15m(50ft) to the base.
In the distance is the Salt Lake (next week)

Walking along the base of Wave Rock. The colours are spectacular, would have loved to have seen it in the rain too!!
It's an amazing place, we spent ages  wandering around there.

Fences

Fences are back, they are now known as "GOOD FENCES", and we now have a new hostess too, Thanks Theresa aka TexWiseGirl over at The Run*A*Round Ranch, its a meme I just love and have really missed, so I'm really pleased that it continues.
I have to say a BIG Thank you to Jan who used to be our wonderful hostess, she has a few life things to deal with, but will still be a bloggin'.

He's my Good Fence to start off the new round.
This is Canal Rocks, in Western Australia, we were there last November. Rugged, but very very beautiful. (I still have to do a post about that trip!!)

Friday

The smoke is still hanging around after the bushfires (not local) on the weekend, making the sunrises beautiful.

Have a lovely day
